1.  Historical Claims Analysis

PHB’s no-charge Analytics Analysis applies proprietary filters and algorithms to analyze claims history to quantify and report the current cost and impact of back and neck pain to your organization. The Pure HealthyBack program complies fully with the regulatory requirements for HIPPA and privacy protection.


2.  Groups and Identification Process

PHB works with the payor to identify the patients that fall into three potential groups: a) chronic back or neck pain, b) sub acute back or neck pain, and c) prevention. The identification process includes one or all of the following: healthcare claims data analysis, direct referrals from plan administrator, physician referrals, plan administrator system blocks, and patient self referrals.


3  Member Awareness/Outreach Campaign

This proactive approach to reach out to the members begins with introductory mailings and outbound engagement calls to explain the benefits of the program and schedule the clinical assessment. 

4.   Clinical Assessment

A medical examination, psychosocial assessment, computer models, and online screening tools produce a holistic assessment of the individuals most likely to benefit.  Those not meeting the screening criteria will be referred back to the client organization or primary care physician (PCP) for more appropriate disposition.


5.  Enrollment of Appropriate Patients into Program

Individuals enrolled into the treatment program will begin with the standard demographic and health/medical history questionnaire and baseline outcomes evaluation and testing.  The PCP of record will be notified of the patient’s potential enrollment.  The PCP may elect to contact the program medical director with any questions.

6.  10-week Intensive Treatment

Treatment begins with a measurement of baseline outcomes and physician evaluation.

Our proprietary medical strengthening technology features the only FDA registered and patented strengthening equipment in the United States of its kind. These systems isolate the muscles in the back and neck, charting and recording individual outcomes through every stage of the treatment period. The PHB program educates patients in a standardized way. We know how to engage patients in their own care, gain their commitment, and make the treatment protocols stick.


7. 9-month Aftercare

The 10-week course of intensive treatment is supplemented by home exercises, and followed with nine months of aftercare.  MTAP and SF-12 scores will continue to be measured and tracked to demonstrate change over time.


8.  Patient Self-Care

Our program includes techniques and tools that are used to uncover patient motivation and build rapport to create meaningful dialog.  Through this discovery and dialog, patients learn to embrace a healthy lifestyle according to his/her values for maximum quality of life.


9.  Flare Up and Spinal Exercises 

A healthy outcome is a joint effort of the patient and care provider.  The educational tools inform patients on the expected course of treatment and to proactively identify and deal with risks and regression.  Specific protocols are taught to deal with flare-ups.


10. 24/7 Call Center and Individualized Care Coaching

PHB provides a high level of customer service, including a 24/7 call center that can be utilized by patients or your organization when a need arises.  Our goals are aligned, and we make our program easy to use. In addition, we provide 1:1 coaching for each patient with a registered nurse or physiatrist to ensure program compliance and outcomes achievement.
